MAKE A NEW UNIFORM FOR
VERDELACO MATSUSAKA

2011-2015  DIADORA JAPAN CO., LTD

When the semi professional Japanese futsal team Verdelaco Matsusaka was promoted to the second division of the futsal league in 2015. I was part of DIADORA's project team in designing their new uniform. I began by assembling a project book so that the team administration could choose from the color templates I had designed. On the background that they choose as their main team color (green), a yellow stripe motif on the right shoulder reappeared diagonally on the left side of the shirt, evoking a sash that tied the members together in unity. Another important priority was creating a product that would enhance athletic performance as much as possible. Since Futsal is a sport played indoors without air conditioning, the athletes sweat profusely over the summer season. Thus, I made sure that uniforms were made of lightweight, quick-drying material that would wick away perspiration. As for the shorts, I took the athletes'  measurements and took care that the length of their shorts was designed for maximum comfort. This was my last assignment at DIADORA, so I was able to leave the company with the knowledge that my creativity and dedication had made a positive difference in the lives of my clients and the athletes ( Verdelaco Matsusaka made it to the top division futsal league in Tokai on February 7th 2016.)
